My bags are packed, I'm ready to go

I can NOT believe that in just a few hours we'll be on a plane to Italy for two weeks. I managed to get everything packed into one average sized suitcase (Jon can vouch for me, it isn't anything huge) and I don't think I've forgotten anything. Of course now it's only 9am and I'm ready to go but don't have to leave to get Husband and Wife and head to the airport till 11:15...

The weekend was a bit mad, as they tend to be. Friday (after realizing there is no good way to get to Ypsi at 5pm on a Friday in the summer) Jon and I had a quick dinner of homemade tortillas, chicken and rice. We then headed out A2 so he could look at a bike which he purchased but we found didn't fit in my car (it would have if we could've gotten the back wheel off). Then it was off to Leopold Brother's for Greg's birthday bash. I didn't know many of the people there, but it was still entertaining to listen to some of the conversations going on around me.

Saturday was relatively leisurely when compared to how most of our weekends have been. I ran to the store to get some things I'd managed to forget for the trip and then headed back to Ypsi. We decided to make fajitas for dinner, hit the grocery store, whipped up a marinade, made homemade tortillas (my first time making them on my own...I think I put in too much flour. Good flavor but they fell apart a bit) and guacamole. From there we headed out to the State Theater (I refuse to call it the Fillmore) for the Wolfmother show. The Hard Lessons opened and everytime I see them I like them even more. What a great set. I really, really wish I had more of their songs and they'd release a full-length album soon. I even got to briefly talk to the Anvil (their drummer) which was kinda cool. Wolfmother has a good album, but I'm afraid I have limited patience for the ten-minute long songs full of just jamming. I'll admit it, I got kinda bored and Jon and I decided to take off before the encore. It just isn't my thing...

Sunday was all about packing and laundry. Jon came over for dinner and it was all pretty low-key until he tried to convince me that yams are fruit because they're orange and what other foods are orange but NOT fruit? We argued and argued but I think we're both too pigheaded to admit when we've been beaten:) It was really, really funny and I was laughing so hard I was crying at one point. Probably doesn't make sense to other people, but I was greatly amused.

So, now it's just killing time until we jump on the plane. I've been told to expect horrendous security lines because of the terror threats in the UK, so I'm prepared for that. It does make me a little nervous though. However, like when I was in London after the July 7th bombings had just happened, I will not let this stop me from doing things and seeing things.

I imagine there will be much to tell when we get back!
Ciao!
